Goldfeather
Story & History
─ Story ─

In the 1950s, wristwatch engineers around the world focused on two goals: maximizing accuracy and minimizing thickness. Seiko started dedicating itself to wristwatch development, and had successfully created new models that achieved these goals by 1960.
One was the Grand Seiko, specializing in accuracy. The other was the ultra-thin Seiko Goldfeather.
As the name suggests, the Seiko Goldfeather dress watch was designed to make it feel as light and gentle as a feather on users' wrists. It featured Caliber 60, which is just 2.95 mm thick. It was the world's thinnest three-hand mechanical movement at that time.
Over 60 years later, Goldfeather was reborn in July 2023. It was designed to pay homage to the original ultra-thin Seiko mechanical watch, and introduced as part of the new Credor collection.
